Our Net-Zero Targets
In 2024, EQT fulfilled its commitment to achieve net-zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions across its legacy upstream operations and subsequently acquired upstream assets, surpassing the scope of its original target established in 2021. Building on this achievement, in 2026, EQT announced its renewed commitment to maintaining net-zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions across its upstream operations, which produce approximately 6.5 Bcfe per day.

Pneumatic Device Replacements
Between June 2021 and December 2022, EQT replaced or retrofitted over 9,000 pneumatic devices.

Starting in 2020, EQT replaced conventional diesel fleets with electric fleets powered by natural gas-fired turbines.

In 2020, implemented advanced digital technologies improving drilling operations by approximately 30%.
Emissions Control Devices on Acquired Alta Assets
Following the acquisition of Alta Resources, EQT installed emissions control devices on these assets, eliminating approximately 35,000 MT CO2e of GHG emissions from the assets.
Advanced Methane Monitoring and Mitigation
In 2023, EQT helped establish the Appalachian Methane Initiative, a world-class methane monitoring network designed to assess and further mitigate methane emissions across the Appalachian Basin.
Local Carbon Offset Projects
Since 2023, EQT has engaged in nature-based carbon offset projects in partnership with West Virginia.
Preserving the Environment
EQT, the West Virginia Division of Forestry and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources established a public-private partnership to implement USDA conservation management practices across more than 400,000 acres of land in West Virginia to promote the absorption of CO2 from the atmosphere and benefit Appalachia’s renowned forested lands. These efforts are verified by West Virginia University, ensuring economic and environmental benefits to the region.
